The ICSE organization was founded in 1979 with the creation of its first company, the Canary Institute of Psychology and Education. Since then, the group has followed a path of almost constant growth, overcoming challenging circumstances to always return stronger and with more services for the community.
Below, a series of significant dates in ICSE’s chronology are presented to provide a better understanding of the company’s trajectory.
A new stage begins with the incorporation of Grupo Satocan into ICSE’s shareholding structure.
Obtaining the ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility diploma.
Obtaining the EFQM 600 Seal, awarded by Club Excelencia en Gestión.
Agreement with the University of Calabria (Italy) for a faculty and student exchange programme.
Celebration of the first Dual Vocational Training Conference in the Canary Islands: implementation of Dual Vocational Training.
Obtaining ISO 45001 certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
ICSE is recognised as a Great Place to Work.
Signing of the agreement with the Canary Islands online private university Las Hespérides.
International recognition as the most inclusive Higher Education Center of 2023 in the Education and Training Awards category by Corporate Vision, AI Global Media Ltd.
Signing of the agreement with Fernando Pessoa Canary University.
Recognition of the Center’s trajectory with the Gold Medal in Education awarded by the City of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Ranked as the 6th best private Education Center in Spain according to a report by Strategik B&M Consulting.
Approval of the Equality Plans and the Protocol for Prevention against Sexual Harassment, updated in accordance with Royal Decree 901/2020, October 13.
Renewal of the Information Security Management System ISO 27001.
Signing of the agreement with UNIR (International University of La Rioja).
Achievement of the Information Security Management System ISO 27001.
Signing of the agreement with UDIMA (Distance University of Madrid).
Creation of the International University Center of the Canary Islands.
Signing of the agreement with YSJU allowing ICSE students to directly access the third year of the English degree program.
Incorporation into the European ERASMUS+ Program.
Signing of the agreement with the French Alliance.
Initiation of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) accreditation process.
National awards in Educational Excellence: Best career as a training center and best professional insertion project.
Achievement of the European Excellence Seal: EFQM+500.
Authorization as a Private Integrated Vocational Training Center by the Education and Employment Councils of the Canary Islands Government.
Gradual opening of the new headquarters in Franchy Roca, where the cycle + degree project and new professional certification programs will be developed.
Completion, in Las Palmas de G.C., of the institutional headquarters located on José Franchy Roca Street: Building with Energy Efficiency Certificate A and National Architecture Award in Glass “Best facade of 2015 in Spain and Portugal.”
Achievement of the Excellence Seal EFQM+400.
Internationalization: Signing of collaboration agreements with English universities (YSJU, Teeside, UCB, Cambridge).
Creation of the Atlantic Studies Institute, S.L.

Inauguration of a new headquarters in Gran Canaria, a building with Energy Certification A.
ICSE is a national finalist in the “Ability Awards” for the second consecutive time and receives the CECAP Award for “Business Trajectory.”
Signing of the agreement with the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM).
The ICSE Group is awarded in Equality and Non-Discrimination by the Ministry of Health, Social Policy, and Equality, with the distinction “Equality in the Company.”
ICSE receives the Gran Canaria Award “Companies for Equality” and the Canary Award for “Business Excellence.”
Signing of the collaboration agreement with the Distance University of Madrid (UDIMA).
ICSE obtains the status of Private Vocational Training Center, authorized by the Government to provide official education.
The newspaper EL DÍA of Tenerife honors the president of ICSE as a Canary Islands personality in “Gallery of Portraits.”
Opening of new accessible facilities in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Certification of Information Security Systems ISO/IEC 27001 (AENOR).
Receiving the SME Award for “Business Courage and Risk.”
Creation of delegate centers in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
The Government of the Canary Islands grants the International Symbol of Accessibility to ICSE Centers in Gran Canaria, and shortly after, to Tenerife.
Relocation to a new headquarters with spacious and accessible facilities in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Obtaining ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification.
Creation of the Tenerife Institute of Psychology and Business, a new company within the group.
The launch of online courses through the e-learning platform.
Obtaining ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification.
ICSE receives the Gold Insignia from the Official College of Psychology of Las Palmas.
The Canary ICSE Foundation, a non-profit entity, is established and registered with the Foundation Protectorate of the Canary Islands Government.
The Canary Higher Institute of Studies, a new company, is founded with headquarters in Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
The ICSE President is appointed as an Advisory Member of the Social Council of the School of Health and Social Services of the Canary Islands Government.
The company receives the European Master of Quality.
Signing of the collaboration agreement with Alfonso X el Sabio University, making ICSE a delegate entity in the Canary Islands for this prestigious university.
Creation of a second company specializing in new technologies, named SEICA (Electronic and Computer Services of the Canary Islands).
The ICSE Director, José Domingo Martín Espino, is chosen by the newspaper LA PROVINCIA as one of the 52 representatives of Canary Islands science and culture, being interviewed in the Sunday supplement “La sombra del Nublo.”
ICSE inaugurates a third headquarters in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Creation of the professional and educational IT division.
Expansion and consolidation of training activities with the opening of a new headquarters in La Laguna, Tenerife.
Opening of the second training center in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
ICSE is named a member of the Advisory Commission of the Ministry of Education of the Canary Islands Government.
Training activities expand to Tenerife.
ICSE begins its activities as a center for applied psychology with the creation of the Canary Institute of Psychology and Education.
